On Saturday we met up with Katie, who lives in Chicago with her husband, Dustin. We had a short visit, but it was great seeing her.. The last time we saw her was at her wedding in Chicago last July!
The main reason for going to Chicago was for a friends wedding. It was a Catholic wedding so it started early Saturday afternoon. We had Matt's dad (Dave) come too Chicago so he could watch Avree while we went to the wedding. She was napping while we went to the ceremony and then we brought her to the reception. She stayed for the dinner, then as the dancing started we brought her back the hotel to hang out with Papa (Dave). She did great at the reception and everyone loved her!
We had a little bit of a scare Sunday morning (before our 9 AM flight)after Avree woke up we saw she had a rash on her inner thighs and in her arm pits. We called her Dr. and he said it was probably just an allergic reaction to something and get some cortisone. He said if it doesn't go away to come in on Monday. After getting home, I gave her a bath and laid her down for a nap. She slept for a long time and when she woke we noticed the rash had spread to her back and stomach. We called the Dr again and they told us to give her some benedryl and to come in on Monday. Well come to find out she has hives and the kind of hives that she has was something she ingested. He told us to make a list of everything she ate this weekend so we know if this happens again we can compare notes to see what food caused this reaction. We have her on antibiotics and is doing just fine. This hasn't even bothered her as she is just acting fine as can be. I will keep you updated on how she is doing.
Going to try and head to Pella this weekend for Tulip Time, but we will see if we feel like traveling again this weekend.

I'm so sorry to hear about the hives! I hope you can figure out what food caused her to react like that-or better yet that it never happens again.
We have been dealing with food allergies with Harrison since his first birthday. The good news is that many food reactions are outgrown. Hope you don't have to worry about anything like that! Glad she is doing better.
aww looks like you guys had a fun trip! Avree looks like she had fun at the Aquarium! Hope her hives are clearing up- wonder what caused them!
well we only have three dipes right now but i just ordered two more a few days ago. one of the ones i have i dont think i like very much and two of them i love! the two i like are pocket dipes which means there is a "pocket" that you put an absorbent insert into before you put the dipe on- they are just as easy to use as a disposable dipe! i like them because after you use them you can pull the insert out of the diaper which makes them so much easier to wash and dry than an all in one diaper which is the other type i have. i dont like the all in one because it takes forever to dry and they come in sizes (small, med, large) so then you have to keep buying more and more as the baby grows. the pockets i have are one size and all the one i have/ordered have buttons that snap the diaper down to make it smaller- they should fit him through potty training! i have just been trying out different dipes off ebay ect. (new not used) to figure out which features i like best and then ill prob order more of the type i like- the two i just ordered have velcro closures instead of snaps like the three i have already but i have read that older babies can figure out how to get the velcro off but not the snap type. i can see about not wanting to spend the money now that avree is older- we still go through a box of costco dipes a month so even if i dont cd constanly we will still save money. plus they just look cute. they say they make great potty training pants though too since they are more like underwear.
