Play Dates, Potties, and visitors

I have been "working" with Avree on trying to get her use to using her big girl potty. It has been going surprisingly well. She sits on it and stay there till I tell her she can get up (most of the time.) Everytime I have put her on it, she's gone. She hasn't gone number 2 yet, but I am just wanting her to get use to the potty first. I know she won't be fully potty trained for a while, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to start now. She does much better when you are not hovering over her while she is trying to "do her business". She likes to have her paci (she only gets it in bed and now on the potty) sippy cup and a book/magazine while she is sitting on the potty. Ha-Ha.

Matt is gone again this week, so Avree and I have been pretty busy. We went to our weekly play date at Paradise Park. It was very similar to Wonderscope, but newer and had more things to do for the little ones. Avree had a great time running around on the playground and running from room to room.








My mom and sister (and Jack) decided to come stay with us while Matt was out of town. We had a great time eating homemade salsa (thank you Aunt Kim for the recipe) and drinking margaritas :-) I just wished it was longer than one night.

I also had one of my friends from Iowa (and her kids) come stay with me for a night too. (It was great having people here all week, cause it sure made my week go by fast.) On Wednesday we went to Deanna Rose farmstead in Overland Park, and the kids loved it! There was so much for them to do and keep busy. Tons of animals, grass to run around on, and playgrounds. The fresh air and the running around sure wore them out!
